January 31st, 2010 · No Comments · Wellness, Fitness and Diet

To be healthy your skin needs to breathe. It breathes through the pores on its surface. When these pores get blocked dirt and oil the skin finds it difficult to breathe resulting in skin problems. The skin might suffer from pimples, acne, zits, boils and other skin problems. Acne is mostly the result of blocked pores. The use of right cleansers used with the right techniques is essential to keep your face clean and trouble free.

A good bath or shower leaves you with refreshed skin and good spirits. It can help you prepare your body and spirit to face another day in life. Nothing beats the refreshing feeling of a warm bath. The same bath can turn out to be a nightmare to your skin if you use the wrong soap or cleansers in the bath. They can completely disturb the natural balances of your skin causing problems like itchy dryness flaky skin and even ugly blemishes. If you want a clean and healthy skin choose the right soap. Learn about your skin and use a suitable soap to maintain its beauty ad health. The aisle shelves are bending under the weight of many different cleansers which make big promises to keep you skin young and radiant. Choose products according to your skin type. A soap good for your skin may not be the right choice for your face.

Using soap on the face may not be a good choice for you. Most need separate soap and cleansers for the face as it needs gentle care. Soap is good for the body skin as it is not as delicate as the facial skin. A bar soap may turn out to be a strong cleanser for your face.

If you have a dry skin a daily scrubbing of your entire body is not recommended. Thoroughly cleanse areas that perspire more so that your skin doesn’t dry out. If you are suffering from body acne you need to wash daily but not too often or too vigorously. There is a misconception that by washing often the oiliness of the skin can be reduced. On the other hand the fact is that frequent washing dries the skin and forces the oil producing glands to produce more and more oil to cope with the washing. No doubt you need to wash regularly but don’t over do it.

This is exactly why you need different cleansers for your face and body. The face has more oil producing glands as compared to the rest of the body. The use of a strong cleanser like a bar soap pushes the glands into over production. Use of bar soaps can clog pores and cause break outs.

A gentle non-comedogenic soap is the best face cleanser to maintain the moisture balance. For those who suffer acne, acne cleansers are the better option. These cleansers have ingredients like salicylic acid or benezoyl peroxide that keeps the skin clear to help absorb the acne treatments. Use in moderation for clear happy skin.
