The year 2009 has been one filled with highs and lows and I’m happy to say that it’s now at a high point. I’ll share some details about my experience with you.
Like many Americans, I was laid off from my job earlier in the year. I had nowhere to go all day and I ended up at the computer most of the time. I was eating but I wasn’t moving, and this led to a lot of weight gain.
From there, I tried to figure out what was going on. I wasn’t really eating any differently, and I guess it was just the gradual buildup of burning a few less calories every day.
Lucky for me, I’ve disciplined myself and find myself much lighter than I was just a few short months ago? You may be wondering how I’ve done it, and it isn’t nearly as hard as you might think.
First and foremost, I decided that drinking soda simply wasn’t a good idea. Even a diet soda isn’t good for you, as the artificial chemicals and sweeteners are said to have a negative effect on the body.
Additionally, I took a closer look at the foods I ate and decided to do away with sugar altogether. The only sugar I’d have from here was the sugar that’s found naturally in fruits, which happens to taste pretty good.
Furthermore, I’m running at the gym, very regularly. It’s cold where I live now so I can’t run outside, but I take full advantage of my gym’s treadmill and run nearly every day.
The last thing I decided to do was replace all fried and sauteed foods with grilled and baked ones. This was difficult, but like any habit, I became used to it after a few weeks. I have a great body to show for it now, and I never plan to go back to the dark side.
