Now that Monavie and Acai berry products in general are becoming hugely popular, it’s a perfectly good time to question if Monavie is a Scam or not.
To begin to ask the question if Monavie is a Scam or not, first you must clarify if you are talking about the business of Monavie or the Acai berry products that they make. We’ll tackle both of those separately here.
The Business: Monavie Inc. - Is it a Scam?
The company named Monavie, based in Utah with distributors around the world, is a very successful MLM business by anyone’s standards. If you feel that all MLMs are scams then you have your answer already, Monavie is without a doubt a full-fledged MLM company and makes vast the majority of its’ income selling directly to their own distributors.
Selling mainly to their distributors, who have to pay first to become distributors, is simply their business model. Some find this distasteful, but they do not hide these facts and it is neither illegal nor immoral. The company of Monavie has not been found guilty of any wrongdoing, either, despite the few recent lawsuits.
The Product of Monavie - Too good to be true, right?
A 25 ounce bottle of 19 mixed fruit juices should not cost $40. They are clearly charging a lot to preserve the integrity of the Acai berry, as well as building up a lot of room for profit for their distributors in each bottle. However, despite Monavie’s stringent compliance laws governing how much each distributor is able to market their product, you’ll easily find thousands of “testimonials” online by distributors claiming that it cured them of ailments such as pneumonia, heart disease, and even cancer.
The 19 exotic fruits inside are very difficult to preserve. Most notably the Acai berry, which makes up the majority of the bottle, is very expensive to properly process and export without losing its’ high level of antioxidants. So maybe the price isn’t as heavily inflated as it appears The main problem with the product is clearly all of the extreme hype that is perpetuated by greedy and overzealous distributors.
So in summation, the only scammy element to Monavie is the lies that distributors tell in order to sell you their products. They are not in compliance with Monavie Inc., despite the fact that most of them feel that they are being 100% truthful. This is the same in all MLM businesses and should not be attributed exclusively to Monavie. To call Monavie a scam is to call all MLM businesses a scam too.
