Counteracting the Surfacing of Panda Eyes

March 2nd, 2010 · No Comments · Medicines and Remedies

Common causes of dark eye circles are age, a poor diet, incredibly stressful and busy lifestyle, as well as genetic predisposition. Panda eyes result due to accumulation of blood through leaky blood vessels on the thin skin surrounding the eye area. Because it is simply very thin, the skin under our eyes is at a higher risk of damage from products with synthetic substances such as that in make-up. However, good news: there is something we can do against panda eyes.

1. Have a healthy lifestyle. Often taken for granted, a healthy lifestyle is one way of counteracting the effects of aging. Regular exercise, a healthy diet enforced with much fruit and vegetables, and getting enough sleep at night will help in improving the quality of the skin and reduce the evidences of aging.

2. Use the best eye creams. Choose creams that will nourish and hydrate the skin, since dehydration is one of the culprits of panda eyes. Nourish the skin with the essential vitamins and minerals. Aside from reducing dark circles, these also help reduce puffiness around the eyes. Eye creams are also customized for different skin types, such as dry skin, normal skin, and oily skin.

3. Moisturize. Go natural and choose the organics. They are also an effective way to minimize panda eyes. These moisturizers readily penetrate the skin leaving it smooth, soft and healthy. Accompanying it with a massage improves circulation, promoting healing and rejuvenation. This helps reduce dark circles under the eyes, fine lines, crow’s feet, and the effects of sun damage on the skin.

4. Wear protective sunglasses. The sun is capable of darkening the skin surrounding the eyes by increasing melanin levels. A high SPF factor can be of great help here.

5. Conceal. Aside from healing, you can simultaneously conceal using eye concealers while waiting for the effects of eye creams to set it. Make sure the shade matches your skin type. This will help lessen visibility of dark circles. Be careful though not to overdo the concealing, or else your eyes will get noticed due to being unnatural.

6. Surgery can be an option if you can afford it, and if you are willing to take the risk. Most surgical interventions are invasive and therefore not advisable.

7. There are facial treatments that can be used to target dark circles. A special hot eye wax can increase circulation and reduce panda eyes. This cleans out toxins, bacteria, and debris from the skin, making it nourished and promoting elasticity.

8. Try homemade treatments. Cucumber slices, a traditional treatment, as well as laying tea bags around the eye area can be effective. These promote rehydration around the eye area, and it also provides a soothing and cooling effect.

The skin around the eyes are especially sensitive to irritants, thus it is important to take good care of them. The key to delaying the effects of aging on our skin includes repairing, restoring, revitalizing and nourishing the skin using special measures. In minimizing dark eye circles, it is always important to go natural.
